I've been a private tenant for nearly all my adult life, and my experience with most large letting agents has been pretty appalling. They almost always treat you badly, are unresponsive when you have an issue, and when you move out they'll always find a spurious reason to withhold part of your security deposit. A year ago I moved from a flat in Newport to a lovely detached house near Ferndale in the Rhonnda that was owned and managed by Property Partners. From the initial viewing, to how they subsequently handled my application, I had a really good feeling about the company. They are a family run business, and genuinely care about their tenants. I had some small issues with the property during the course of my tenancy, and I always received an immediate response from a manager (even outside business hours), followed by a prompt visit by someone from their maintenance team. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I've recently bought a house, and so I had to move from the property in Ferndale after just over a year. I'd looked after the property as if it were my own, and Property Partners acknowledged this by returning my security deposit in full. If you're looking to rent a property in South Wales I can't recommend Property Partners enough.
